William Stanisich graduated from Yale in History of Art in 1969. He studied with the architecture historian Vincent Scully and Charles Talbot, the Northern Renaissance scholar, who taught that identity and character in the era were portrayed by attributes rather than psychology. Stanisich also took several studio art courses in drawing, painting and design, he had his first solo exhibition at the SFMOMA Artists Gallery in 1985 and has since had numerous solo and group shows. He is represented by the Andra Norris Gallery and epoca, where his work is featured at the San Francisco Fall Show in Fort Mason.
